2、Product Features

This machine is mainly used for processing various horizontal-type parts, such as turning external cylinders, end faces, grooving, cutting off, taper turning, arcs, curved surfaces, and threading.  

This machine  has below features :

The main drive and feed drive are independently separated.

Equipped with a Siemens 828D CNC system, with full closed-loop control via linear granting rulers on the X and Z axes.

The carriage guideways are fitted with stainless steel protective covers.

The headstock adopts a through-shaft design with dual-bearing support.

Equipped with a box-type tool turret; The tailstock movement and tailstock sleeve movement are motor-driven; The tailstock locking adopts a disc spring clamping and hydraulic release structure, while the indexing plate is manually operated; The sleeve locking uses a disc spring clamping and hydraulic release mechanism; Fitted with a walkway and a pendant button station for convenient operation.

The machine is equipped with one set open type center rest , one set closed type center rest .

6、Structural Description of Main Components:

6.1machine bed

The machine bed is made of high-strength cast iron with resin sand molding. It features a rigid three-guideway design for superior anti-tipping stability when supporting workpieces. The main guideways are medium-frequency hardened for enhanced wear resistance.

The machine bed features a rectangular three-guideway design for longitudinal movement of the carriage and tailstock. As the foundation of the machine, the bed's rigidity directly impacts overall performance and machining accuracy. Constructed with resin sand-cast premium cast iron, the bed offers excellent appearance and strength. Its optimized ribs structure provides outstanding resistance to cross-section deformation while enhancing overall damping capacity, effectively improving vibration resistance. Chips removal holes are positioned at the bottom for efficient cutting chips removal. The saddle sliding surfaces are fitted with wear-resistant material, reducing friction and extending machine service life.

To further minimize the impact of cutting overturning moments on the machine and ensure running accuracy, the entire length of the bed is supported on multiple adjustable leveling blocks and securely fastened with foundation bolts. This design increases the contact area between the bed and foundation, enhancing the long-term stability of the machine bed's precision.

The tool turret guideways are equipped with stainless steel protective covers, effectively safeguarding the guideways.

6.2Headstock

        The headstock features independent hydraulic control system and lubrication systems. It is mounted on a base plate, which is securely fastened to the machine bed. The machine spindle utilizes high-quality imported bearings, ensuring superior rigidity and high rotational accuracy.The spindle center adopts a flanged short-taper design with conical positioning, firmly fixed to the spindle with bolts to enhance connection stiffness.

The main drive is powered by an AC spindle servo motor with a power rating of 132KW and a B3-type mounting configuration. It features a two-stage mechanical speed regulation system, enabling the spindle to achieve a speed range of 0.63-125 r/min. The two-stage mechanical speed change in the headstock is accomplished via an electromagnetic sliding valve and hydraulic cylinder. The headstock is equipped with button stations on both the front and rear sides, allowing for jogging (forward/reverse), continuous operation, and stopping control of the spindle.

This machine utilizes a heavy-duty chuck with mechanical force-amplifying jaws for workpiece clamping, significantly reducing operator workload and improving efficiency. The headstock rear cavity incorporates a flow sensor that triggers an alarm when lubrication levels are insufficient. An encoder is installed at the spindle rear to enable thread cutting operations

6.3Tailstock

The tailstock adopts a split upper and lower body structure. The lower body install the tailstock rapid traverse mechanism, anti-retraction mechanism, and lubrication oil pump. Inside the upper body of the tailstock, the front end of the tailstock spindle is supported by a double-row radial roller bearing, providing high rigidity similar to the main spindle structure. The rear end of the tailstock spindle is equipped with a disc spring to prevent damage caused by workpiece thermal expansion, along with a hydraulic force measurement device. The center features a flange-type short taper shank. Both the front and rear of the tailstock are fitted with pressure gauges, allowing operators to select and set the appropriate pointer position based on the workpiece weight and the indicated clamping force. The tailstock and tailstock sleeve are each driven by separate motors for rapid movement and are equipped with overload protectors.

The clamping between the tailstock lower body and the bed adopts a disc spring clamping and hydraulic release structure. Note that before starting the tailstock rapid traverse motor, the anti-retraction plate must be disengaged first. The guide rail surfaces of the tailstock are lined with wear-resistant material to effectively reduce wear on the bed ways. The sleeve has both rapid and slow traverse speeds for convenient operation.


6.4  Tool post

The box-type tool turret is suitable for heavy-duty horizontal lathes, used for rough and finish machining of various shaft-type parts, especially for heavy-duty cutting (rough machining) and processing stepped shafts, deep grooves, and end faces. The tool plates are divided into main and auxiliary plates, mounted on both sides of the box-type tool turret body. They can extend and retract independently and are fixed to the tool turret body with clamping plates. The extension length of the tool plates can be adjusted as needed, and the tool plate movement mechanism is manually operated.

The tool turret consists of a large carriage and an upper tool holder, integrated with the feed box. The longitudinal movement of the tool turret adopts a dual-gear and helical rack backlash elimination structure. After backlash compensation, the servo motor drives a reduction mechanism to transmit motion to the gear and rack, which then moves the carriage. This ensures transmission accuracy while enhancing load capacity.

The tool turret's Z-axis and X-axis are entirely driven by AC servo motors. The transverse rapid traverse speed is 4000 mm/min, with a feed range of 0.1–1000 mm/min, and the maximum tool slide travel is 350 mm. The longitudinal rapid traverse speed is 4000 mm/min, with a feed range of 0.1–500 mm/min. The upper section of the large tool turret body adopts a box-type structure with left and right vertical tool plates, providing greater rigidity than traditional tool turrets, making it suitable for heavy-duty cutting.

6.5Center Rests

The machine is equipped with one set of closed steady rest and one set of open steady rest. The closed steady rest adopts a roller-slider structure, while the open steady rest features a wheel-type design. Both steady rests use manual gear-rack mechanisms for adjustment purposes only. All steady rests can be manually moved longitudinally along the bed.

6.6Hydraulic and Lubrication System

Each section of the machine is equipped with an independent lubrication system. The hydraulic system consists of two main parts: the headstock hydraulic system and the tailstock hydraulic system.The headstock hydraulic system primarily lubricates the bearings and gears inside the headstock and operates the gearshift cylinder.The tailstock hydraulic system is mainly responsible for the clamping and unclamping of the tailstock sleeve.The moving pairs of the tool post are lubricated using a centralized lubrication station.

6.7Machine Guards and Lighting

Stainless steel telescopic guideway covers are installed on both the X-axis and Z-axis of the tool turret.

The control station is fixed on the carriage, equipped with an operation panel and CNC control panel.

A work light is mounted on top of the tool turret .

6.8 Automatic Chip Conveyor  and Tool Cooling System (Optional)

The machine is equipped with a chain-type automatic chip conveyor and tool cooling system. The coolant is pumped from the chip conveyor tank through coolant hoses in the drag chain to the tool position, providing cooling for both the tool and cutting area to enhance cutting efficiency and extend tool life. The chip conveyor automatically collects chips into a floor-mounted chip collection box.

7、Machine Tool Electrical Configuration

The spindle servo motor and drive adopt a domestic system, while the CNC system utilizes the Siemens 828D. The electrical control cabinet features an aesthetically designed enclosure with specially treated seams for dust prevention. All internal electrical components are premium-grade products, and the cabinet is equipped with an air conditioner. This electrical control cabinet ensures excellent stability and reliability.
